1. Remus Lupin. Remus Lupin was by far the best DADA teacher to exist during Harry's school years. A kind man and an interesting teacher, Lupin deserved to stay in the position forever. In Harry’s third year at Hogwarts, Remus Lupin takes the Dark Arts job. A childhood friend of Harry’s father and a member of the Order of the Phoenix during the First War, Lupin was a competent and kind teacher. Professor Sprout – Professor Flitwick – Professor McGonagall –” he ticked them off on his fingers, “Professor Quirrell – an’ Dumbledore himself did somethin’, o’ course. Hang on, I’ve forgotten someone. Oh yeah, Professor Snape.” — Chapter 14, Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback
Professor Wilhelmina Grubbly-Plank. Wilhelmina is a derivative of the German name ‘Wilhelm’, and this comes from the English name ‘William’, which has its roots in the Germanic name ‘Willahelm’. Professor Trelawney: Tilda Swinton. Professor Trelawney is a strange and eccentric individual who was magnificently portrayed by Emma Thompson in the Harry Potter series.
